Autumn Essentials

Now that it's fall again, what would a girl do without her fall essentials! Here are a couple things that I definitely need in my house/ closet or on my wishlist:1. Knitted Cardigans/ Pullovers :

Here are a couple options that I LOVE for fall :

  • This Ethic Patternd Cardigan recently found it's way into my closet and it's the best thing that ever happened to a lazy girl ! Just throw it over a pair of dark washed or olive green jeans and a white shirt and you are good to go, looking like you actually put effort into your outfit! Another benefit: It's actually soft like a baby's blanket so perfect for those dark autumn mornings when you're not quite ready to loose your pajamas...

  •  Plain colored sweaters with plaid or sheer white shirts underneath are really easy to throw on but so cute! Styled with a nice scarf and some ankle boots they are the perfect outfit for a sunny but chilly fall day! (Similar ones can be found at Zara, H&M, Forever 21... )

2. Beanies

I never used to be a beanie person until I was shopping in P&C the other day and found this olive green one. I instantly fell in love with the color and it is loose enough so it doesn't bunch up weirdly at the top as beanies sometimes do... Another one I really like is this white bobble beanie from Zara which I bought last Winter.

3. Ankle Boots

I am still searching for the perfect ones...On my search I found these Rag & Bone ones that I love the style of, but at $525 they were "slightly" over my budget.. but I also found somewhat similar ones from Tom Tailor which are way more affordable! (:

4.Tea,Coffee & Hot Chocolate

No matter which one you choose, there is just something about a nice hot beverage that makes those cold, rainy days so much better! My personal favorites are hot chocolate with mini marshmallows, Apple Cider and, of course, the pumpkin spice latte. I found a great recipe on the blog foodbabe.com :

5.Candles

Every year I get sucked into buying a LOT of fall candles & never manage to actually burn them all especially since my cat doesn't like it when my room smells too much like something(he doesn't let me pet him when I have my beloved Miss Dior Cherie perfume on - he's a diva..)so I will usually only keep the scented ones on for half an hour or so, which makes them last forever !!
My favorites at the Moment are:

Bath & Body Works:
-Wasabi Apple
-Pumpkin Cupcake/ Apple
-Mahagony Teakwood(Cause who wouldn't want their room smelling like hot male Abercrombie& Fitch models...)

Yankee Candle:
-Chistmas Cookie(and yes, I might have this one burning year round...

6.Halloween Candy

Pumpkin Shaped EVERYTHING and Caramel Apple Oreos... need I say more? Plus, Cashiers will only think that you live in a kid-friendly neighborhood if you buy tons of candy for a movie night .. no judgemental stares !! :D

7. Pumpkin EVERYTHING ...

Tell me down below which are YOUR fall essentials ! (:

Things That Inspire Me

Things That Inspire Me

Sometimes I find myself in places in my life when I feel like the person who is writing my life story is having a massive writers block.
In those moments you feel uninspired, lonely with the world spinning faster than you feel able to keep up with.

I am writing this post while stuck in such a situation, hoping that writing out the thoughts in my head will help me figure out my goals and how to achieve them.

I know that you shouldn't always look at what other people are doing and start living your own life, but if your own life doesn't get you far then why not strive to be something else for a while to find back to yourself?

So without further ado, here are some things that inspire me to break out of my shell and to try and become the person I aspire to be.

1. Music

I think most people would agree when I say that the music we listen to is a big part of who we are, how we think and how we feel. It is a powerful force that can manipulate feelings, thoughts and actions.
I believe that the music a person listens to,
and I mean really listens to,
not at parties and with friends because it is popular & catchy (Animals - Maroon 5)
but those songs you can play over and over (Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's )
the songs you sing in the shower (Need You Right Now - Bethany Mota ft. Mike Tompkins) and the songs that you have had on your Ipod for years and still don't get tired of(Someone Like You - Adele),
the songs that you turn up high while dancing through your apartment when you're alone(Don't - Ed Sheeran), or sing in you car while driving fast(Are You Gonna Be My Girl - Jet).
The song you turn on as background noise while crying at night, heartbroken over something that you are positive no one would ever understand(For The Love Of A Daughter - Demi Lovato).
The song that you feel was written about your life and the song that always puts a smile on you face, for it will forever be connected to another time when everything was different.

2. People

Whether it is someone you know or not, by watching other people you can find out more about yourself than you might think.
You can look at a dancer, a singer, a successful business person or even someone in your family as a role model and it can motivate you to try out something new, learn something that you never knew before or see a situation in a completely different light.
Although you can find a lot of inspiration from those people, never forget to put your own dreams first and do what makes YOU happy since you are the person who will have to live with the choices you make.
On the other hand you might take a bad experience and let it shape you in a way that you find the motivation to never behave the way a bad role model did, or to simply prove their doubts about your dreams and abilities wrong.

3. Travel

I am a person who gets easily inspired by travel.
Just getting lost in cities, looking at buildings that you normally wouldn't notice if you didn't take the time to really look around you and experience your surroundings.
Watching different people go about their day and getting a feel for a different way of life can really open your eyes.

So even if it is just a day trip, take the time to go somewhere you have never been before or even just consciously walk through a familiar surrounding and see the little things you have long stopped noticing because you started being too busy with life.

4. The Beach

Even if it is not always accessible for everyone, the beach is such a good place to just sit or walk for hours and think about everything that is going on.
For me, the salty wind and the sound of the waves just inspire deep thoughts, but also work wonders in calming your mind when you just want to escape reality for a little while.

5. Books

I have always been a person who loved to read. A lot. It started with my Mom reading the first Harry Potter book to my sister and me as kids and after I learned to properly read and had devoured the rest of the series there was really no stopping until my bedroom became somewhat of a library...
Reading was always an escape, a way to become someone completely different for a couple hours, a way to change the world I was living in and make it mine by filling it with new ideas and goals.
In one moment there was the definite possibility that I would go to Hogwarts ( I mean, who didn't spend their 11th Birthday hoping the letter would come...) and in the next I was convinced that there where fairies living in my backyard.
But even growing up and moving on to reading autobiographies, classics, developing a love for Shakespeare and throwing in one or the other romance novel(everyone has their guilty pleaures, right?...)books never ceased to inspire me.
Books enable you to see the world in a new light and to also assure you, that no matter what situation you are in,"happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light" - Albus Dumbledore.

I hope that I may have helped anyone out there with this post, because even if it is hard for me to remember at the moment, deep down I know, that everything must happen for a reason and that years from now I will look back to this moment and count it as one of the times that I had to experience before arriving in a better place.

So make mistakes, be unhappy only to learn what does make you happy, surround yourself with different people and do anything to get inspired, to come up with new goals and find ways to achieve them, because this is your only life, and it is better to look back and say that you have failed and learned to get over failure, than to have never learned anything at all.

PS. Leave a comment down below with things that inspire you !
